Migraine 101

My training for managing Migraines 25 years ago was: rule out everything else and educate the patient that it will pass.  Today we can offer tools to reduce the pain associated with migraines.  Speaking as an Eye care Professional,  reducing painful light is the goal to managing the pain of a migraine.

Blue, Amber and Red light stimulates pain in the retina that is transferred to the brain.  As important, is the soothing impact of green light.  The use of tinted lens to enhance green light and reduce blue, amber and red light can significantly decrease the frequency and intensity of migraines!  They look like fashion tints and feel great on the eyes.  Consider light control as one tool to managing your migraines.
